Job summary

Putzmeister America, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to monitor warehouse inventory, perform cycle counts, and ensure the accuracy of material records.

The ICS will support Warehouse, Production, Engineering, and Customer Service with material location, SAP transactions, and data entry, while maintaining safety and organized work areas. This role reports to the Accounting Manager, with daily guidance from the Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and mathematical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cycle count materials using ABC system and after-issues as directed.
• Research inventory discrepancies and submit accurate reports.
• Help determine root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Answer inquiries from CS, Warehouse, Production, and Engineering promptly.
• Assist Warehouse Pullers to locate materials and update dimensions/weights in the database.
• Operate order picker, sit-down lifts, and other warehouse equipment safely.
• Perform SAP transactions related to warehouse inventory; look up part numbers/locations in SAP.
• Data entry of work orders, parts, and quantities; maintain safe/clean work area.
• Support overall compliance with safety rules and company standards.

Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist (ICS) is responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory and performing cycle counting to ensure that all materials are properly verified and that the reported inventory reflects the actual inventory. The IAS will maintain inventory accuracy through proper counting, processing of material reports, and transfers. The IAS will also assist the Warehouse, Production, Engineering, and Customer Service in locating materials. The IAS maintains a dual-reporting structure. This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager for administrative and financial compliance and operates under the daily guidance and supervision of the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cycle count materials based on the “ABC” grouping system, which will be monitored by the Warehouse Manager, and also cycle count materials as issues arise.
• Research inventory discrepancies and submit accurate inventory and bin location reports.
• Assist in determining root causes of inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
• Responsible for answering CS, Warehouse, Production, and Engineering inquiries in a timely manner.
• Assist all Warehouse Pullers to locate materials.
• Assist in updating dimensions and weights for all materials in the database.
• Be able to operate order picker, sit-down lifts, and other warehouse equipment carefully and safely.
• Must be able to accurately perform SAP transactions relative to the Warehouse inventory system.
• Must be capable of looking up part numbers and locations in the SAP database.
• Data entry of work orders, parts, and quantities

• Experience with ERP system(s) preferred

Education/Certification/Training:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with large and expensive products.
• Must operate large forklifts, moving extremely heavy materials.
