Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training.
  • APICS certification preferred.
  • Tow motor certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels across three Reading, PA sites.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Implement and manage cycle counting programs and full physical inventories.
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Generate regular inventory reports for site managers and procurement teams.
  • Collaborate with site leads to ensure consistent practices and compliance.
  • Support inter-site transfers and logistics coordination.
  • Identify inefficiencies in inventory handling and propose process improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce excess inventory and minimize stockouts.
  • Support lean manufacturing and JIT inventory strategies.
  • Ensure inventory practices comply with internal policies and external regulations.

Inventory Control Specialist

Responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, availability, and movement across multiple manufacturing locations. Ensures optimal stock levels, supports production needs, and maintains data integrity in inventory systems. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve inventory efficiency while ensuring compliance with company policies and audit standards. Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels across all three Reading, PA sites.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
  • Implement and manage cycle counting programs and full physical inventories.
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Generate regular inventory reports for site managers and procurement teams.
  • Analyze inventory trends and discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Standardize inventory control procedures across all Reading, PA locations.
  • Collaborate with site leads to ensure consistent practices and compliance.
  • Support inter-site transfers and logistics coordination.
  • Identify inefficiencies in inventory handling and propose process improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce excess inventory and minimize stockouts.
  • Support lean manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) inventory strategies.
  • Ensure inventory practices comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain documentation for traceability and accountability.
  • Train staff on inventory systems and tools.
  • Liaise with procurement, production, quality assurance, and logistics teams.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align inventory goals with business objectives.
  • Perform cycle counts of inventoried materials, finished goods and packaging to maintain 98% inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure traceability of stock transaction activities, labor and materials for all finished goods where required.
  • Manage inventories of customer supplied returnable / reusable packaging materials.
  • Prepares list of depleted, slow moving and obsolete items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items.
  • Manage storage rack systems throughout the plant and warehouse for safe weight limits and organization.
  • Maintains department housekeeping and 5S program requirements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices rules in alignment with QMS / EMS requirements.
  • Perform all work procedures according to established Quality Management & Environmental Management Systems.
  • Perform job responsibilities and tasks in compliance to Company policies, procedures and safety and environmental regulations
Qualifications:
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OTHER: APICS certification preferred, tow motor certification required.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondences and reports. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or managers and employees of organization.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • OTHER: Prior experience working with a MRP system, Excel, Word
