Job Description

Kelly Services is seeking Inventory Clerks for our client in Melrose Park, Illinois. Candidates will work in temperatures ranging from -5 to 70 degrees.

$20/hr.

Schedules available:
12pm – 8:30pm or
5pm - 2:30am.
Will work on Sat or Sun, and 4 days during the week.

These are contract-to-hire opportunities, meaning you will be hired directly after 3-4 months, depending on your performance and attendance.

Purpose:

Verify store order case counts, research and report discrepancies, and recap audit results for weekly reports. Perform cycle counts in home slot locations and reserves.

Primary Job Functions:

1. Verify total case count and specific items, assembled by warehouse assemblers to store invoice.
2. Reconcile physical and financial inventories.
3. Report discrepancies to Warehouse Supervisor.
4. Recap audit results for weekly reporting.
5. Compare and reconcile physical inventory cycle counts to those maintained in the inventory system.
6. Research causes for pallets that cannot be slotted by the inventory system.
7. Complete system maintenance to ensure accurate inventory accountability.
8. Perform warehouse case maintenance, including measuring case dimensions, verifying slot heights, and entering data into the computer.
9. Make entries for store returns and print warehouse-related reports.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Ability to work with minimal supervision, good organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Good math skills, figure aptitude, and 10-key calculator skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills, both with co-workers and over the phone.
• Stamina for warehouse environment work.
• Ability to work in temperatures from -5 to 70 degrees; ear plugs available upon request.
• Awareness of potential hazards such as machinery and fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in varying conditions, including temperature-controlled offices and warehouse environments ranging from -20 to over 80 degrees. Incumbents may sit for long periods and walk significant distances daily.
