Cincinnati Test Systems in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to manage material flow and accurate stock records in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will pull parts for production and sales orders, perform cycle counts, and record transactions in the ERP system while maintaining safe, organized stockrooms and coordinating with production and shipping teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of inventory, stockroom, warehouse, material handling, or related experience.
  • Experience using an ERP, MRP, or inventory management system; Epicor experience is a plus.
  • Forklift experience preferred; must be willing to complete forklift certification.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with part numbers, quantities, and inventory locations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with production, shipping, purchasing, and other departments.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn company software and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, organize, and put away incoming parts and materials in designated inventory locations.
  • Pull parts and materials for production and assembly jobs accurately and efficiently.
  • Pull and stage materials for sales orders and shipping.
  • Restock inventory bins and maintain appropriate material locations.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and assist with researching inventory discrepancies.
  • Accurately record inventory movements and transactions in the ERP system.
  • Assist with the annual physical inventory process.
  • Operate a forklift or other material-handling equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inventory and stockroom area.
  • Communicate inventory shortages, discrepancies, or other material concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Follow established inventory control, quality, and safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Cincinnati Test Systems (CTS) is a leader in the design and manufacture of leak test and assembly verification instrumentation, providing standard and custom solutions for a wide range of manufacturing applications. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for supporting the accurate and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. This position pulls parts and materials for assembly jobs and sales orders, receives and puts away incoming inventory, performs cycle counts, and records inventory transactions in the ERP system.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy with part numbers and quantities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with part numbers, quantities, and inventory locations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with production, shipping, purchasing, and other departments.
  • Forklift experience preferred; must be willing and able to complete company-required forklift certification.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, reach, and handle parts and materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, crouch, or kneel.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment as required.
  • Ability to visually identify part numbers, quantities, labels, and inventory locations.

This position is performed on-site in a manufacturing and inventory environment. The employee will regularly work in stockroom, warehouse, production, and shipping areas and may be exposed to typical manufacturing conditions, including noise, moving equipment, and varying levels of activity.
