Job summary

National Safety Apparel in Chicago is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to manage raw material inventories (fabric and trims) using the TCM system and related tools.

You will perform cycle counts, maintain warehouse organization, work with production and receiving teams, and help ensure material availability for upcoming orders while upholding strong safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 1 year of office administration/inventory management experience.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to log and track data.

Responsibilities

• Manage the inventory of raw materials and components using the TCM system.
• Perform cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Organize warehouse space, bin locations, and cleanliness.
• Conduct daily/weekly counts of production supplies.
• Report discrepancies to the supply chain team.

• Order supplies from vendors when reorder points are reached.
• Uphold NSA safety and housekeeping policies and promote a safe work environment.

Inventory Control Specialist – NSA Chicago

Reports To: Inventory Control Lead

Direct Reports: N/A

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay: $19.60 an Hour

Position Overview: To manage all raw material inventories (fabric and trims), utilizing the business software and other system tools as required.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage the inventory of raw materials and components utilizing the TCM system. This includes performing cycle counts as needed to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Manage the space, bin locations, and overall organization/cleanliness of all warehouse areas.
• Performing daily/weekly inventory counts of production supplies.
• Reporting discrepancies in inventory to the supply chain team.
• Working with the production team on gathering needed materials for upcoming orders.
• Working with the receiving team to make sure product is properly put away.
• Ordering supplies from vendors when reorder points are reached.
• Safety- Responsibilities include maintaining a neat and orderly space that promotes a safe work environment. Must mandate and follow ALL NSA Safety and Housekeeping Poli-cies, ensure staff operate the equipment in a safe manner according to established training procedures, and report ANYTHING that appears unsafe, from your functional depart-ment’s perspective, which includes, the authority to shut down ANY task/operations that you feel may be unsafe.

Training: Provided on the job and may be supplemented with external, local, or out-of-town training.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications: High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: 1 year of office administration/inventory management experience

Key Competencies: Persistence (wants it done, and wants it done right), positive attitude, dependable, analytical thinking, problem solving, good communication skills, and functional computer skills (email, logs/tracking)

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for duration of shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: Manufacturing and Warehouse environment, consistent background machine noise.
