Job summary

Ben E. Keith seeks an Assistant Inventory Control Manager to support the Inventory Control Manager in staffing and coordinating counts and supervising the team. You will drive accuracy in counts, balance online vs physical inventory, and oversee recalls and returns, maintaining regulatory compliance and reducing shrink.

The role emphasizes process discipline, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Food Safety and Purchasing to optimize inventory levels and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of inventory control experience required.
• Some management experience preferred.
• Extensive product knowledge a plus; food service industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of FDA and USDA guidelines; MS Office suite required.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory control processes to ensure product is available and adequate for resale.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between system counts and physical counts.
• Coordinate and review inventory checks from buyers, sales reps, customers and vendors, including quality aspects.
• Coordinate with the Food Safety Manager for any potential or present food safety issue.
• Oversee returns and recalls, including billing and scheduling with vendors.
• Prepare and analyze inventory reports to optimize operational efficiency.
• Assist in month-end closing and maintain backup records.
