Job summary

Hood Container is seeking an Inventory Coordinator at our Walker, MI plant. You will manage all inventory transactions, troubleshoot errors, and drive improvements in accuracy and efficiency across plant-wide processes.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You will generate month-end reports, manage physical inventories, and ensure timely reporting to customers while supporting audits and disposals of aged/obsolete

Qualifications

• Requires experience in inventory control and warehouse operations.
• Ability to write, audit, and evaluate procedures and inventory systems for compliance standards.
• Proven track record of improving accuracy and efficiency in inventory processes.
• Must be able to work with mínimal supervision and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage all inventory transactions and troubleshoot errors.
• Review inventory including raw goods and direct corrections.
• Support improvements in accuracy and efficiency plant-wide.
• Generate required month-end reporting.
• Manage and direct physical inventories as needed.
• Ensure inventory is reported to customers as requested.
• Review aged and obsolete inventory monthly and process disposals.
• Support audits for management.

What We’re Searching for:

Hood Container is seeking a data driven and change minded Inventory Coordinator for our Walker, MI plant. They will play a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting optimal warehouse operations. Strong organizational, teamwork, and self‑starter skills will lead you to success in this role.

How you will contribute:

• Manage all inventory transactions, troubleshoot errors and identify root causes and supply and implement possible solutions to Management team.
• Review all inventory including raw goods, identify errors, and direct/follow up on corrections needed.
• Support improvements in accuracy and efficiency in all plant-wide inventory processes.
• Accurately generate required month‑end reporting.
• Manage and direct physical inventories as needed.
• Ensure all inventory is reported to customers as requested.
• Review and manage aged and obsolete inventory monthly with scheduler and process disposals.
• Support Management with all audits.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Organized and detail oriented
• Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent mathematical skills, computer literate, and data driven.
• Background in quality and inventory roles.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Work overtime and odd shifts as necessary to meet production requirements
• Ability to write, audit, and evaluate procedures and inventory systems for compliance standards.
• Ability to obtain and maintain hi‑lo certification.
