Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. in Las Cruces, NM is seeking an Inventory Clerk to maintain cycle counts, reconcile inventory, and support audits in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will work with SAP and WMS, count items on shelves, generate reports, and ensure accurate system transactions reflecting inventory position at all times.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; 2-year degree in logistics/inventory preferred.
• Strong computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet apps; SAP/WMS experience preferred.
• Ability to count and read inventory reports and procedures; lift and count articles.

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory cycle count and physical inventory programs.
• Performs physical inventory count and reconciles inventory daily.
• Assists in developing solutions to shortages, overages and discrepancies.
• Compiles and reports periodic statistics to management on inventory trends.
• Supports audits and backup for shipping/receiving as needed.
• Ensures all system transactions reflect accurate inventory position at all times.

How you will make contributions that matter...

• Maintains inventory cycle count and physical inventory programs.
• Performs physical inventory count (cycle count) and reconciles inventory on a daily basis.
• Assists in developing solutions to shortages, overages and inventory discrepancies.
• Compiles, verifies, and reports periodic statistical information to management regarding trends in customer escalations as related to inventory
• Assists in compiling data related to special projects, as requested by supervisor.
• Applies and ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures.
• Effectively and promptly communicate (both verbally and electronic) all applicable inventory concerns, special considerations supervisor.
• Support internal/external audits.
• Provide back-up support for Shipping/Receiving clerk when necessary.
• Ensure that all system transactions are accurately and timely to reflect correct inventory position at any time. This includes shipments, resupply inventory, donations, product loss and damage.
• Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively apply the Saputo Values.
• Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
• Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

You are best suited for the role if you…

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Preferred, 2-year degree in logistics or inventory management.
• Excellent computer skill with advanced experience with word processing, spreadsheet applications and specialized inventory control software programs (WMS), SAP preferred.
• Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as inventory reports, operating procedures to ensure inventory is audited and accurate.
• Safely operate a lift truck.
• Ability to generate reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must be highly organized and efficient.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
• Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Must have excellent mathematical skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
