Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking an Inventory Associate in Las Cruces, NM to maintain cycle counts, perform daily physical counts, and ensure accurate system records. You will support audits, address shortages, and collaborate across departments to resolve inventory discrepancies.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, plus 2 years in logistics or inventory management, and strong math, organizational, and communication skills. Lift truck operation and SAP/WMS experience are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 2-year degree in logistics or inventory management preferred.
  • Advanced experience with word processing and spreadsheet apps; SAP preferred.
  • Ability to count items on shelves and read inventory reports.
  • Lift truck operation ability.
  • Ability to generate reports and business correspondence.
  • Strong organizational and math skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventory cycle count and physical inventory programs.
  • Performs physical inventory count and reconciles inventory daily.
  • Assists in developing solutions to shortages, overages and discrepancies.
  • Compiles and reports periodic statistics on inventory trends.
  • Supports audits and back-up for Shipping/Receiving.
  • Ensures system transactions reflect correct inventory positions; handles shipments and losses.
  • Communicates inventory concerns clearly to supervisor.
  • Adheres to Saputo Code of Ethics and values.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

How you will make contributions that matter...
  • Maintains inventory cycle count and physical inventory programs.
  • Performs physical inventory count (cycle count) and reconciles inventory on a daily basis.
  • Assists in developing solutions to shortages, overages and inventory discrepancies.
  • Compiles, verifies, and reports periodic statistical information to management regarding trends in customer escalations as related to inventory
  • Assists in compiling data related to special projects, as requested by supervisor.
  • Applies and ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures.
  • Effectively and promptly communicate (both verbally and electronic) all applicable inventory concerns, special considerations supervisor.
  • Support internal/external audits.
  • Provide back-up support for Shipping/Receiving clerk when necessary.
  • Ensure that all system transactions are accurately and timely to reflect correct inventory position at any time. This includes shipments, resupply inventory, donations, product loss and damage.
  • Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively apply the Saputo Values.
  • Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Preferred, 2-year degree in logistics or inventory management.
  • Excellent computer skill with advanced experience with word processing, spreadsheet applications and specialized inventory control software programs (WMS), SAP preferred.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as inventory reports, operating procedures to ensure inventory is audited and accurate.
  • Safely operate a lift truck.
  • Ability to generate reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidate must be highly organized and efficient.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent mathematical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
