This position involves receiving and monitoring inventory to meet demand forecasts and financial objectives. It requires basic understanding of production orders, attention to detail, and interaction with all levels of personnel. Work is under general supervision.

Location: Newton, NJ, with occasional duties at other Thorlabs locations.

Essential Job Functions

1. Familiarity with bar coding and scanning systems.
2. Operate barcode scanning apparatus.
3. Understand inventory counting procedures.
4. Understand customer needs and expectations.
5. Knowledge of production work orders and inventory documents.
6. Understand distribution practices and inventory control.
7. Perform Daily Cycle Counts as needed.
8. Use RFSmart scanner to put inventory to stock.
9. Assist Inventory Clerk Level II and III with projects.
10. Execute physical transfers of products.
11. Replenish locations from overflow.
12. Cross-train in related distribution functions and assist as needed.

Additional responsibilities include meeting company standards, adhering to policies, and maintaining workplace behavior standards. The company may assign other duties as needed.

Physical Activities

Work may involve standing, walking, sitting, repetitive tasks, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work areas may be noisy.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimal prior manufacturing experience, with background in inventory control.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.

Skills and Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of shipping pick list process.
• Familiarity with ERP systems like Axapta and RFSmart.
• Attention to detail and multitasking skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working across departments.
• Ability to understand written instructions.
• Basic math and analytical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
