INVENTORY CONTROL ASSOCIATE

Purpose:

The Inventory Control Associate ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse’s inventory. The associate will primarily maintain consistent cycle counts throughout the warehouse repetitively throughout the year.


General Description of Duties:


  • Uses a handheld to verify inventory, while on power equipment, in each location of the warehouse on a specific schedule and/or physically count merchandise to ensure inventory is always consistent and accurate.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and production levels.

  • Ability to identify merchandise that may be marked incorrectly.

  • Ability to identify model numbers and other information from labels to aide in ease of identification.

  • Identifies safety issues and is aware of and responsible for following all safety processes for safe machine operation, safety harness requirements, and other PPE requirements.


Qualifications:


  • Safety conscious approach to all activities.

  • Ability to safely lift/push/pull merchandise while cycling inventory and possibly relocating merchandise while operating powered equipment, hand trucks, and carts.

  • Work as a part of a cooperative team where the members may change frequently.

  • Ability to analyze/be attentive to detail with numbers/basic calculations and demonstrate proficient handwriting.

  • Ability to quickly move your hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects when handling, installing, positioning, or moving furniture.

  • Experience working with/around powered equipment, warehouse machinery, and hand/power tools preferred.


Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to learn new computer systems

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/warehouse or distribution center environment, preferably with lift experience. Experience within an inventory department a plus, but willing to train the right candidate.

  • Successful completion of required safety and machine operation training

  • Maintain a positive working attitude

  • Ability to stand on a lift at elevated heights through majority of shift.
