Aerotek in Bohemia, NY is seeking an Inventory Control Associate to support the receipt, tracking, and shipping of products using our proprietary systems. The role focuses on inventory management, data entry, and coordination with distributors to meet production schedules.
Responsibilities include FIFO material issuance, cross-functional communication, and maintaining accurate records, with safety shoes, forklift operation, and occasional overtime. Contract to hire position onsite.
The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for researching, tracking, and executing the release and shipping of products using various proprietary computer systems. This includes managing inventory with an Inventory Management System, a Receiving System, and a Daily Production Scheduler, as well as interfacing with national distributors such as FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
Manage and verify the receipt of in-house manufactured goods and process requests based on established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Track and receive materials from external vendors and clients utilizing the proprietary inventory management system.
Receive and issue finished materials to the In Process Inspection Department for final inspection.
Utilize First In/First Out methodology (FIFO) to issue materials for distribution to all internal departments.
Prioritize and adjust to meet daily inventory management tasks by monitoring production schedules and shifting priorities.
Effectively communicate work status and changes to schedule needs, escalating issues appropriately to leadership.
Proactively manage workload and adjust based on daily priorities to ensure timelines are met with cost-effective and efficient processes.
Enter product and shipment data accurately and customize shipping per customer-specific requirements.
Destroy expired label inventory per established procedures and timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional department managers and supervisors to meet company goals and objectives.
Multitask under tight timelines with minimal errors.
Account for all inventory and ensure proper identification of products, including the prompt return of all labels to inventory and verification of label IDs.
Assist in developing and maintaining procedures for areas of responsibility and proactively recommend process improvements.
Maintain and proactively order shipping supplies to ensure adequate supply levels.
Pack labels into boxes to avoid any damage in transit.
Perform light to moderate lifting of boxes and storage material averaging 20lbs.
Safely operate all tools and equipment, including forklift trucks, hand trucks, and electronic scales.
Transport materials to and from the warehouse using company-assigned vehicles.
Maintain all work areas in an orderly fashion.
Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner, always wearing safety shoes.
Apply Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility.
Demonstrate and promote the company vision.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
High school diploma
Ability to lift boxes and storage materials averaging 30 lbs.
Effective communication skills with all levels of personnel
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of customer requirements and profiles
Availability for overtime, including weekends
Valid NY State Driver’s License (if seeking permanent employment)
Experience in warehouse, inventory control, and inventory accuracy

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bohemia, NY.
The pay range for this position is $24.20 - $26.40/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
