Job summary

Quanex in St. Cloud, MN is seeking an Inventory Control Analyst to lead cycle counts, manage inventory accuracy, and support financial close activities. You will ensure compliance and efficient operations while coordinating with purchasing and accounting teams.

The role requires strong Excel skills and attention to detail, with responsibilities including invoice processing, PO management, and inventory control to drive business performance.

Qualifications

  • 2-year post-secondary education or related experience required or preferred.
  • Experience with inventory control and cycle counts preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills including V-Lookups and conditional formatting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
  • Support financial close activities and record invoices.
  • Enter and manage purchase orders; track movement and non-moving items.
  • Monitor SOX compliance and related inventory documentation.

Job description

Quanex is looking for an Inventory Control Analyst to join our team located in St. Cloud, MN.

As our Inventory Control Analyst, you'll be the go-to expert for inventory accuracy—leading cycle counts and physical inventories, supporting financial close activities, processing invoices, and ensuring compliance with SOX requirements. Your work will directly support operational efficiency and business performance.

Work Hours: Monday – Thursday (7:30am-4:30pm), Friday (7:30am-2:30pm)

What Success Looks Like
  • Inventory Management: Managing inventory levels, entering/managing purchase orders, entering/managing workorders, and addressing product with no movement.
  • Monitor SOX compliance, inventory controls, and related documentation.
  • Keep proper personnel informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective inventory management.
  • Record/code invoices and generate and maintain processes for all new and existing programs.
What You Bring
  • 2-year post-secondary education or equivalent related experience, preferred.
  • Inventory experience, preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel with ability to do V-Lookups, conditional formatting, etc.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly detail oriented.
  • Comfortable with prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The salary range for this position is $50K - $60K w/ bonus potential.
