Job summary

Costco is seeking an Inventory Auditor to maintain accurate warehouse stock, correct discrepancies, and audit reports across receiving, inventory and finance processes. You will ensure precise counts, process adjustments, and maintain a high level of member service.

This role requires auditing multiple warehouse reports, performing biannual inventories, and leveraging SAP/AS400 to verify vendor payments and stock status. Regular attendance and safe operations are essential.

Responsibilities

• Audit daily/weekly reports for negative on-hand items and stock discrepancies.
• Research and audit vendor payments, receipts, and discounts in SAP and related systems.
• Count and verify merchandise in all areas including receiving, sales floor, and high shrink zones.
• Enter counts into systems, research variances, and process adjustments.
• Review Order Online and other internal reports to identify errors and variances.
• Extract and review BI reports and GL details, reporting cycle variances to management.
• Conduct biannual inventory audits and handle pre/post-audit tasks.
• Provide prompt, courteous member service and maintain safety standards.

Position Summary

Maintains accurate warehouse inventory. Corrects discrepancies in stock status and book inventory. Audits Receiving, RTV and FE reports as needed to identify and correct errors. Audits other departments, warehouse reports and AS400 options as needed. Audits BI inventory reports and reports findings to management. The inventory auditor reports directly to the Warehouse Manager. Provides a high level of member service.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Reviews daily and weekly reports of negative on hand items, items in stock without sales, item markdowns, and vendor service claims.
• Researches and audits accrued merchandise payables, receiving documents, shipping documents and verifies vendor payments in SAP. Reviews items sold by department number and item discount documentation.
• Counts the actual merchandise on the sales floor, in the steel, and in receiving. Counts jewelry, majors, roadshows, and other high shrink departments and items each period. Removes and condenses layers of merchandise from pallets for accuracy.
• Keys counts into computer, researches variances, submits stock status adjustments to the General Manager and submits claims to Accounting to correct vendor payments and book inventory.
• Creates computer count sheets and keys physical counts in computer.
• Audits Order Online Reports, high end watch discrepancies, unreceived merchandise transfers, and KEM errors.
• Audits item signs for correct item, description, price, and rebate information.
• Runs and reviews reports from Costco Intranet system. Checks BI reports PI by Warehouse and GL Cycle Detail Spreadsheet.
• Opens GL Detail in Excel adding filters for research. Reports cycle-to-date dollar variance to General Manager and central office.
• Audits biannual warehouse inventory. Performs Pre-listing and Post-audit duties. Submits correction requests to Accounting.
• Provides prompt and courteous member service.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
