Job summary

Tovala is looking for an Inventory Associate in Utah to manage inbound/outbound products, ensure accuracy and proper storage, and oversee warehouse organization. You will receive goods via RF gun, maintain logs, and notify buyers of shortages or damage as needed.

The role requires forklift operation, WMS experience, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Schedule is Tue-Sat 6:00 am to 3:00 pm in West Valley City, Utah, with flexibility in end time to support production and logistics.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a complex inventory environment
  • Good cycle counting skills
  • Experience operating a forklift
  • Experience using a warehouse management system (software)
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during 8+ hour shifts
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold temperature environments (-10° to 70°F)
  • Food Production experience is a plus
  • MHE Certification, or willingness to go through certification training
  • Forklift Certification, or willingness to go through certification training
  • Food Handlers certification, or willingness to go through certification training

Responsibilities

  • Direct drivers to unload deliveries in designated staging areas
  • Verify actual product received against initial PO and BOL; confirm integrity and flag FSQA when necessary
  • Maintain receiving logs and verify products meet specs (temps, quantities, QC)
  • Transfer and slot product in correct warehouse location on receipt
  • Optimize pallet configuration and warehouse space for storage and efficiency
  • Maintain warehouse organization for full production cycle and next week's production
  • Ensure equipment like forklifts and floor scrubbers are functioning and charged
  • Model compliance with Warehouse Safety
  • Provide support with production tasks during low-volume receiving days
  • Assist facility maintenance projects as necessary
  • Complete daily tasks by end of day

Job description

Position Summary

The Inventory Associate is on the Inventory team and is responsible for all inbound and outbound products that hit our facility. Day-to-day operations include ensuring that incoming food and non-food deliveries are accurate and meet our high-quality, safety, and consistency standards; and that incoming products are received via RF gun and properly stored daily. This individual will be upholding the organization and layout of the warehouse. You will oversee our inventory and notify buyers of shortages or damage to incoming ingredients. Good communication skills are imperative to this role so that procurement and production are notified promptly and can make accommodations accordingly.

Schedule

Tues­day - Saturday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm (flexible end time that could end later)

How you’ll spend your time at Tovala
  • Direct drivers to unload deliveries in designated staging areas.

  • Transfer and slot product in the correct warehouse location upon receipt–done on the day it was received.
  • Optimize pallet configuration and warehouse space to maximize storage and efficiency.
  • Maintain warehouse organization to ensure the full production cycle runs smoothly and is set up for next week’s production.
  • Facilitate warehouse resource management by ensuring equipment such as forklifts and floor scrubbers are functioning, charged, and ready when needed.
  • Model compliance of Warehouse Safety.
  • Provide support with production tasks during low-volume receiving days.
  • Assist facility maintenance projects and repairs, as necessary.
  • Complete tasks as assigned on the daily schedule by the end of the day.
About you

Requirements
  • 1+ year(s) of experience working in a complex inventory environment in an inventory role.
  • Good cycle counting skills.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Experience using a warehouse management system (software).

  • Comfortable working in hot and cold temperature environments (-10° to 39° to 70° F) in kitchen, warehouse, and cooler/freezer.
  • Food Production experience is a plus.

  • Food Handlers certification, or willingness to go through certification training.

$21.50 - $21.50 an hour
