Job summary

Staffmark is hiring for an Inventory Associate in Elk Grove Village, IL. This role supports warehouse operations through picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory handling while helping ensure orders are completed safely and accurately.

The position offers a pay rate of $19.00–$23.00 per hour and a schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. You will use RF scanners, forklifts or pallet jacks, and work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution is beneficial.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials.
  • Pick, pack, kit, and prepare products for shipment.
  • Use handheld scanners and computer workstations for inventory transactions.
  • Receive, store, and distribute materials and products.

Job Duties
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials throughout the warehouse
  • Pick, pack, kit, and prepare products for shipment
  • Utilize handheld scanners and computer workstations for inventory transactions
  • Receive, store, and distribute materials and products
  • Assemble customer orders and stage for shipping
  • Load and unload containers, crates, and pallets
  • Organize inventory on racks, shelves, and storage locations

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, or distribution training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

  • Ability to safely perform warehouse duties including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory handling.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately identify products, labels, and shipping documentation.
  • Ability to use pallet jacks, hand trucks, RF scanners, or other warehouse equipment as required.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced warehouse environments.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and dependable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse, distribution center, fulfillment, manufacturing, or logistics experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory procedures, shipping software, or RF scanning equipment is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and attention to detail are well positioned for success as a Inventory Associate.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive warehouse tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely work around warehouse equipment, conveyors, and moving inventory.
  • Ability to maintain productivity while working in warehouse and distribution environments.

As a Inventory Associate you will receive, pick, pack, sort, stage, load, unload, and organize products throughout warehouse operations. You will verify inventory, prepare shipments, maintain accurate product locations, support order fulfillment, assist with inventory counts, and help ensure efficient warehouse operations while following established safety procedures.

The Inventory Associate plays an important role in warehouse and distribution operations by helping products move efficiently from receiving through shipment. This position requires attention to detail, strong work habits, and the ability to perform a variety of warehouse responsibilities.
