Job summary

Wesco seeks a Senior Analyst - Inventory to optimize inventory and service levels through strategic analysis and effective reporting. The role focuses on data mining, SQL development, and on-demand analytics to drive decisions across purchasing, replenishment, and inventory planning.

The candidate will design and maintain complex reports, support field queries, and collaborate with IT and finance to implement improvements. Strong Excel/Access skills and Teradata SQL are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years required, 5+ years preferred of supply chain and distribution industry experience.
• 2 years required, 3+ years preferred of hands on report design, development and implementation.
• 2 years required, 3+ years preferred of data mining, decision support, analytics, and Teradata SQL programming with SQL Server or other databases a plus.
• Experience with Teradata SQL and Excel macros is important.

Responsibilities

• Ensures execution of daily, weekly and monthly production reports, including validating report data, maintaining source codes, and making changes.
• Develops and executes on demand and ad-hoc reports, including modifying report parameters or source code based on specific needs.
• Provides field support by answering questions on report logic or data, and identifying problems to recommend appropriate tools and reports.
• Handles report design and development from gathering requirements to writing Teradata SQL, setting up Access databases and writing Excel macros.
• Translates business questions into quantitative measurable variables and presents findings for various audiences.
