Job summary

OCTA's College Intern – Materials Management program offers hands-on experience supporting stockroom staff, material planning and inventory analysis to help keep the transit system running efficiently. You will develop Excel reports and KPI dashboards, analyze inventory trends, assist with optimization initiatives, and support day-to-day operations with entries into SharePoint and the EAM system testing.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as college student pursuing a degree in a related field with minimum GPA 2.5.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; detail oriented.
• Proficient with Excel; able to create reports and analyze data.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support Materials Management with inventory analysis, reporting, and day-to-day operations.
• Analyze inventory trends, usage, demand, and replenishment to support effective management.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and cycle counts; recommend stock level adjustments.
• Assist with optimization and balancing inventory across warehouses.
• Develop and maintain Excel reports, dashboards, and KPI reporting.
• Update databases and SharePoint documentation.
• Support testing of EAM system enhancements and reporting improvements.
• Participate in departmental meetings and process improvement projects.
