Job description

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for the transformer selection process, including requests at both the order and quote stages. This role involves updating and correcting yard equipment inventory cards and creating Ready-To-Ship inventory cards. The analyst will make unit reservations, issue units to jobs, add incoming units to the transfer log, and ensure accurate transactions to support inventory goals. Disposition of transferred repair units will also be handled by the analyst. These tasks are performed daily to meet facility needs.

The Inventory Analyst will participate in continuous improvement efforts, removing obstacles and providing solutions. Compliance with safety, quality standards, and company policies is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide timely, accurate responses, selecting high-quality units.
2. Monitor inventory levels and present alternatives when requested units are unavailable.
3. Communicate shortages and escalate deficits affecting order fulfillment.
4. Understand product classes and their values for reconditioning and rewind (excluding substations).
5. Assist in running warehouse reports and evaluating inventory data for accuracy.
6. Support yard scans to verify inventory and locations.
7. Add units to transfer logs and follow up on deliveries, escalating issues as needed.
8. Support sales with inventory queries and requests.
9. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workstation.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required; vocational/trade school preferred.
• 1-3 years of transformer-related experience preferred.
• Mechanical and/or electrical field experience preferred.
• Material handling equipment experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and WMS required.
• OSHA10 certification preferred.
• Proven safety record required.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to interpret work orders and meet department goals.
• Strong work ethic, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn other department functions and work flexible hours.
• Physical requirements include lifting 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and working in non-climate-controlled environments.
