Job summary

American Rheinmetall is seeking an Inventory Analyst to monitor and optimize inventory levels across production. You will maintain accurate system data and drive cycle counts while supporting financial reporting and process improvements.

Role requires knowledge of inventory control, ERP/MRP (Plex preferred), and collaboration with manufacturing, QA, and scheduling teams to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of inventory control principles and practices such as cycle counting and FIFO/LIFO.
  • Understanding of supply chain, logistics, and materials management.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production workflows.
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems; Plex is preferred.
  • Understanding of demand planning and forecasting techniques.
  • Awareness of safety and compliance standards in inventory handling.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (5S, Six Sigma).
  • Understanding of cost accounting and impact on financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels to support production efficiency.
  • Maintain system part data and ensure data accuracy across inventories.
  • Perform periodic cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Develop small tools and reports beyond ERP capabilities as needed.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to optimize inventory flow.

Job Summary

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support production and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions
  • Continuous upkeep of system part data, inventory data accuracy, and flow of inventory through system data, in spite of planned changes or additions, as well as all sources of inaccuracies, transactional mistakes or omissions made by all personnel, deviations from standard processing, and other anomalies. Do so in a manner which balances the needs of manufacturing for timely and effective implementation as well as needs of financial department for structured changes and minimum unplanned cost and inventory value fluctuations.
  • Implement small- and large-scale periodic inventory cycle counts, through proper organization of system, manpower, and hardware. Follow up on cycle counts, analyze, root cause discrepancies.
  • Continuous improvements of software systems as well as standard practices - across all departments, e.g., Paint, Assembly, QC, Estimating, Scheduling, etc.
  • Use programming computer skills to develop a range of programs, as required by different departments at Loc, that fall outside the parameters and/or capabilities of the ERP system and the IT department. Develop programs ranging from simple reports or tools.
  • Process machine scrap, some EDI Sales Data, oversee Assembly Plex transactions.
  • Works with multiple internal departments
  • Ability to direct co-workers without direct management responsibilities
  • Ability to operate a forklift or ability to learn a plus
  • Implement Engineering Changes Notices and Processes Change Requests in the system, being mindful of effect of any changes on system flow, job routing, inventory value, inventory relabeling or quarantine.
Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)

  • Knowledge of inventory control principles and practices (e.g., cycle counting, Kanban, FIFO/LIFO)
  • Understanding of supply chain, logistics, and materials management
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production workflows
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints
  • Possess strong problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Plex preferred)
  • Understanding of demand planning and forecasting techniques
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance standards related to inventory storage and handling
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, Six Sigma)
  • Understanding of cost accounting and how inventory impacts financial reporting
Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
  • At least one year of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Background Prerequisites
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
