Job summary

FX Staffing is seeking a New Product Development Engineer in the West Chester, Ohio area. This role involves taking concepts from idea to production, developing innovative solutions, and translating customer needs into manufacturable products.

The engineer will lead prototyping, testing, and design validation, working closely with manufacturing and sales teams to launch new products and improve existing ones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of mechanical product design/product development experience.
• A demonstrated history of creating and launching physical products.
• Creative problem-solving ability and hands-on builder mindset.
• Strong 3D CAD skills; Solid Edge experience preferred.
• Experience with structural calculations and/or FEA.
• Experience with fabricated metal products, aluminum structures, or similar environments.
• Understanding of design for manufacturing, assembly, installation, and cost.
• Ability to collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Create new products from the ground up, taking concepts through to production.
• Brainstorm and develop creative solutions to customer and market problems.
• Turn sketches and customer requests into manufacturable products.
• Build and evaluate prototypes and iterate designs.
• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and FEA to validate performance.
• Apply applicable structural standards (ADM, ASCE 7).
• Evaluate concepts for strength, safety, functionality, and cost.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to turn ideas into finished products.
• Lead prototype testing, design revisions, and production implementation.
• Manage multiple development projects from concept to completion.
