Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Specialist to assist with evaluation, preparation, and care of patients undergoing cardiac procedures. You will operate imaging and life-support equipment, perform quality assurance, and monitor radiation exposure, while interpreting intracardiac pressures during procedures.

The role requires an Associate degree, RRT certification, and BLS. Five years of experience in special procedures or radiographic imaging is expected; cardiac

Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance and maintain related documentation for x-ray equipment and lead protection.
• Monitor radiation exposure documentation for HVIL staff.
• Monitor records and interpret intracardiac pressures and ECG signals during procedures.

Hiring Range: $32.87 - $59.17 (based a full time schedule of 40 hours per week). Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

I. Major Responsibilities:

• Assists with evaluation, preparation, and after care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, or electrophysiology procedures.
• Prepares, calibrates and operates all equipment used during procedures, including physiologic recorder, x-ray equipment, film processor and life support equipment.
• Performs quality assurance and maintains related documentation for x-ray equipment, film processor and lead aprons.
• Monitors documentation related to radiation exposure of HVIL staff.
• Monitors records, processes and interprets intracardiac pressures & electrocardiographic signals during procedures.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

• Associate degree
• Certified Registered Radiology Technologist (RRT)
• Certified in basic life support.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

• 5 year's experience in special procedures, radiographic imaging or equivalent.
• Experience in advanced life support and surgical techniques.

Preferred:

• Previous cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, and/or electrophysiology laboratory experience is preferred.
