Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks an experienced Radiology Technologist for the Cardiac Cath Lab. You will assist with evaluation, preparation and aftercare of cardiac procedures, operate imaging and life-support equipment, and monitor radiation exposure and documentation.

Requires ARRT/RRT, BLS and 5+ years in special procedures with radiographic imaging. Join a team dedicated to patient care and safety in Central Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in radiologic technology.
• CRRT (RRT) certification.
• Basic life support certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluation, preparation and after care of cardiac procedures.
• Prepare and operate imaging equipment used during procedures and life-support devices.
• Perform quality assurance and maintain documentation for imaging equipment and related lead protection.
• Monitor radiation exposure records for staff and ensure compliance.
• Record and interpret intracardiac pressures and ECG signals during procedures.

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: $32.87 - $59.17

(based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week).

Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

I. Major Responsibilities:

• 1. Assists with evaluation, preparation, and after care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, or electrophysiology procedures.
• 2. Prepares, calibrates and operates all equipment used during procedures, including physiologic recorder, x-ray equipment, film processor and life support equipment.
• 3. Performs quality assurance and maintains related documentation for x-ray equipment, film processor and lead aprons.
• 4. Monitors documentation related to radiation exposure of HVIL staff.
• 5. Monitors records, processes and interprets intracardiac pressures & electrocardiographic signals during procedures.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

• 1. Associate degree
• 2. Certified Registered Radiology Technologist (RRT)
• 3. Certified in basic life support.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

• 1. 5 year's experience in special procedures, radiographic imaging or equivalent.
• 2. Experience in advanced life support and surgical techniques.

Preferred:

• 1. Previous cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, and/or electrophysiology laboratory experience is preferred.
