Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Cardiac Ultrasound Tech to perform transthoracic and stress echocardiograms. Requires ARDMS RDCS or CCI certification and specialized post‑secondary training equal to two years of college.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., on‑call as needed. You will operate ultrasound equipment, document findings in Epic, assist MDs and students, and contribute to a care‑driven team within the Cardiac Ultrasound unit (cost center 10020-3962).

Qualifications

• Specialized post-secondary training equal to two years of college.
• Registration required by ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI for cardiac specialties.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized or general cardiac ultrasound procedures per departmental protocols.
• Performs ultrasound procedures for Cardiac Ultrasound and other areas as required.
• Operates all ultrasound equipment; records images and prints hard copies (CDs).
• Uses Epic to schedule and complete exams; prepares preliminary reports in Epic.
• Serves as a resource to sonographers, MDs, and students.

Performs all types of Cardiac Ultrasound procedures including Transthoracic Echocardiogram, Treadmill Stress Echocardiograms, and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms.

II. Major Responsibilities:

1. 1. Performs specialized or general procedures according to established departmental protocols.
2. 2. Performs ultrasound procedures for Cardiac Ultrasound procedures and other specific areas as required.
3. 3. Operates all types of Ultrasound equipment. Performs portable exams in various areas throughout the hospital to include the Operating Room and Intensive Care Units and off-site locations. Records images and makes hard copies (CD's) where applicable.
4. 4. Uses Epic to schedule and complete exams as applicable. Completes preliminary reports in Epic.
5. 5. Serves as a resource to sonographers, MDs, and students.

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

1. 1. Specialized post-secondary training equal to two years of college.
2. 2. Registration required by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), including the RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, under the ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) for cardiac specialties.
