Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester is seeking a Radiology Technologist to support cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular and electrophysiology procedures on a full-time schedule. You will prepare and calibrate equipment, monitor radiation exposure, and document related records.

Strong teamwork and the ability to manage complex procedures are essential. Applicants should have an associate degree, RRT, BLS, and at least five years of related experience; a cardiac cath/EP background is

• CRRT certification.
• Basic life support certification required.

• Prepares, calibrates and operates equipment used during procedures.

Based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week.

Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Provides support functions directly and/or indirectly related to cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular and/or electrophysiology procedures.

I. Major Responsibilities

• Assists with evaluation, preparation, and after care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, or electrophysiology procedures.
• Prepares, calibrates and operates all equipment used during procedures, including physiologic recorder, x-ray equipment, film processor and life support equipment.
• Performs quality assurance and maintains related documentation for x-ray equipment, film processor and lead aprons.
• Monitors documentation related to radiation exposure of HVIL staff.
• Monitors records, processes and interprets intracardiac pressures & electrocardiographic signals during procedures.

License/Certification/Education

II. Position Qualifications:

Required

• Associate degree
• Certified Registered Radiology Technologist (RRT)
• Certified in basic life support.

Experience/Skills

Required

• 5 year’s experience in special procedures, radiographic imaging or equivalent.
• Experience in advanced life support and surgical techniques.

Preferred

• Previous cardiac catheterization, invasive vascular, and/or electrophysiology laboratory experience is preferred.

Cardiac Cath Or EP Experience Preferred
