Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; program seeking accreditation accepted.
• Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of nursing theory and practice and relevant medical sciences.
• Ability to operate instruments, equipment and supplies used in nursing service or ambulatory practice.
• Familiarity with medical asepsis principles; maintain positive relations with staff.
• Required or preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS, NRP per unit requirements.
• CNOR, PACU or critical care experience may be preferred for certain units.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, document, and evaluate nursing care for patients as per orders and standards.
• Direct activities of nursing staff in assigned area to meet patient needs.
• Observe, assess, and report patient condition and response to treatment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
• Uphold MetroHealth System mission, vision, values and customer service standards.
