Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing and hold current RN licensure in Ohio.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare provider certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and related biological, physical, psychosocial, and medical sciences.
• Thorough knowledge of use and care of nursing instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Ability to maintain positive working relations and high physical coordination and dexterity.
• PRN and Float staff must have minimum one year (or more) of clinical experience in the unit or as determined by the clinical area.
• AHA ACLS/PALS/PEARS and AAP NRP certifications are required or preferred as listed below.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to lift 250–300 pounds with assistance and push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Plans for, delivers, documents and evaluates nursing care of patients in an assigned area.
• Directs activities of assigned nursing personnel in care.
• Observes, assesses and reports on the condition of patients and documents treatment and response.
