Brown University Health is seeking an EEG Technician to perform comprehensive EEG and EVP procedures across operating rooms, radiology labs and special procedures areas. You will monitor brain activity during anesthesia, interact with surgeons, and ensure precise electrode placement for accurate readings.

Formación

• Successful completion of post-high school.
• One- or two-year accredited program in EEG Technology, including completion of required clinical affiliation preferred.
• Eligibility to sit for written examination for formal registration by the American Board of Registration in Electroencephalographic Technology within three years of placement in position (1,000 EEG examinations required).
• Knowledge of EEG techniques, concepts and equipment.
• Manual dexterity to measure and place electrodes accurately.

Responsabilidades

• Performs a full range of EEG and EVP procedures in various hospital settings, including operating room and radiology laboratory.
• Monitors brain activity of patients under anesthesia and communicates pertinent information to the surgeon during procedures.
• Ensures electrodes are sterilized and properly placed on predetermined head positions.
• Calibrates and checks the accuracy of EEG/EVP equipment and monitors.
• Obtains and reviews recordings, identifies artifacts, and records clinical manifestations observed during tests.
• Maintains equipment in clean condition and participates in ongoing education and conferences.
