Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is seeking an Intramural Coordinator to lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of inclusive intramural programs for a diverse student body. You will oversee staff, budgets, and risk management while ensuring engaging, safe experiences across recreational and competitive activities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with intramural experience and the ability to work evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Health and Physical Education, Higher Education Administration, or related field with experience in intramural management.
• Ability to work regular evening and weekend rotations.
• Excellent written and oral communication and collaborative skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment within a university setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of inclusive intramural programs emphasizing fun, safety, and accessibility.
• Oversee staff hiring, training, supervision, and mentorship to develop leaders.
• Develop, monitor, and reconcile program budgets and resources.
• Create and update standard operating procedures for intramural programs.
• Collaborate with the Office of Student Conduct and The Commons on conduct issues.
• Assist with daily operations and on-call supervision for evenings and weekends.
