The Boulder Valley School District invites applications for an Intramural-Choral Club Sponsor at Nevin Platt Middle. This 0.25 FTE, extra-duty role directs and coordinates the choral program, guiding students in vocal music and performances under building supervision.

Ideal candidates are 21+, hold a high school diploma, and can communicate in English; after-school availability and middle school programming knowledge are preferred. BVSD offers comprehensive benefits and a commitment to equity.

Summary:

Directs the activity and coordinates the program allowing students to develop their interests. The Intramural Sponsor for the program reports to the building principal.

Responsibilities:

Leadership is to be provided in the following areas:

• Organization and supervision of the choral club.
• Setting directions and expectations for thechoral club.
• Monitoring eligibility and academic progress for the choral club.
• Plan, organize and deliver vocal music lessons and rehearsals for students of multiple grade levels.
• Create a safe and fun environment where students can express creativity and develop teamwork through choral music.
• Select appropriate music, teach proper vocal techniques and prepare students for musical performances.

Required:

• Must be 21 years of age, or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Complete and submitted BVSD online application
• Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English

Preferred:

• Must be available after school, evenings and weekends
• Knowledge of all aspects of middle school activity programming.
• Proven leadership qualities and successful experience in working with middle school students.

Salary Information:

Salary Placementvaries according to experience and education.

*Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule).
