Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Oregon seeks an Intramural Basketball Referee – Experienced or Certified. You will officiate intramural games at the Mazama Gymnasium and uphold league rules with fairness and safety.

This is a temporary part‑time hourly position with pay ranging from $31.29/hour for experienced referees to $43.80/hour for certified officials, supporting the 2026‑2027 academic year. CPR certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days is required.

Primary Purpose


Officiate the Intramural basketball games that occur at the COCC Mazama Gymnasium.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Know and uphold all Intramural basketball league rules during competition.

  • Follow established procedure, along with on-site supervisor, in the event of a sports injury.

  • Run up and down the basketball court during games (1-4 hours).

  • Model sportsmanship and maintain appropriate conduct towards players and spectators.

  • Model non discriminatory practices in all games/competition.

  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned that supports the overall objective of the position.

Necessary Special Qualifications


  • For positions outside the Bend campus location, training at other campus locations may be required.

  • For positions with financial transactional duties, a credit history check may be required.

Ergonomic Requirements

Work hours are determined by the supervisor and vary based on business needs and locations. Position assignments may be assigned an alternate schedule to service the campus needs. Requires the ability to sit or stand at workstation for extended periods, and possibly in various weather outdoors. Requires the physical ability to run up and down the basketball court during games (1-4 hours). Occasional lifting up to 25lbs. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.


Experienced


  • Officiating experience in Basketball

  • Playing or coaching experience in Basketball.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • CPR Certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.

  • Must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of Basketball.

  • Basketball Officiating Certification from an established Officials Association.
