Job summary

Free People is seeking an Assistant Buyer to join the Intimates team. You will work with the Buyer to shape a timely, customer-focused product assortment that aims to meet profit targets.

You will support assortment execution, sample management, and vendor collaboration, while maintaining Buy Sheets and weekly product photos for the web. Strong Excel and Office skills are essential for daily reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct retail buying experience.
• Understanding of target customer and how to select appealing products.
• Knowledge of statistical components (IMU, GM, WOS, OTB) and planning basics.
• Professional communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage urgent needs with a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Assist in determining the overall product mix for each buying area to meet profit goals and customer needs.
• Provide feedback in styleout and product meetings to guide assortment decisions.
• Collaborate with buyers and vendor partners on product development for key classes.
• Create ad hoc statistical reports and maintain Buy Sheets and Excel reports.
• Capture and manage samples, organize by season, and hand over new product photos weekly.
