Job summary

Willmar Public Schools is seeking a Reading/Math Interventionist to support K-5 students at Roosevelt Elementary School. Under the direction of the Title I Teacher and Instructional Coach, you will lead small-group and one-on-one sessions with targeted instruction using research-based strategies.

You will monitor progress weekly, adhere to the teacher's plan, and communicate with families. The role is part-time, non-exempt, with pay at $17.00 per hour and a typical school-day schedule.

Qualifications

• Highly Qualified Status: Two-year degree or higher, 60 college credits toward a degree, or passing MN Para Educator exam.
• Basic child development background preferred.
• Willingness to work with and respect students; able to work independently.
• Strong communication, patience and confidentiality; follow teacher plan.

Description

The Interventionist is trained in research-based reading and math strategies and using prescribed interventions. They are responsible for conducting weekly progress monitoring to ensure students are on track to read or do math at the associated grade level.

Requirements

Highly Qualified Status (Two-year degree or higher, 60 college credits toward a degree, or a passing score on the MN approved Para Educator exam.)

Basic child development educational background or knowledge preferred

Willingness to work with and show respect for students.

Ability to work independently.

Demonstrated communication skills, patience, and flexibility.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to follow the teacher's plan and direction, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
