Interventional Vascular Technologists are specialized Interventional Radiologists supporting cutting-edge therapies at Cleveland Clinic.

Work Schedule: 6:00am – 2:30pm with on-call requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during and after exams.
• Understand drugs used in IR, including indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions, and major effects.
• Record and maintain procedural data, including injection data, fluoroscopic time, and procedural information.
• Monitor, clean, and repair equipment as needed.
• Attend in-service programs and professional sessions to learn new skills and information.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing.
• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
• Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.
• Knowledge of radiologic physics and vascular imaging equipment.
• Knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology relevant to interventional and diagnostic exams.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Lifting or assisting with lifting patients and manipulating equipment.
• Following PPE protocols using standard precautions.
