Position: Interventional Radiology Technician

Location: Morristown, NJ, 07960

Urgency: ASAP

Schedule: 5-day shifts varying based on departmental needs, including weekend and on-call requirements

Duties

1. Assist proceduralists during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases, scrubbing side by side with specialty proceduralists.
2. Operate floor and ceiling-mounted fluoroscopic machines with strong knowledge.
3. Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex products during interventional procedures.
4. Critically think during neuro-interventional and complex cases to assist proceduralists.
5. Operate power injection devices for iodinated contrast media during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
6. Maintain effective communication using closed-loop communication techniques.
7. Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention measures while setting up procedural trays.
8. Contribute positively to a multidisciplinary team including nurses, radiologists, and vascular surgeons.
9. Document in electronic medical records and send images to Sectra/PACS system.
10. Manage groin post-intervention care.
11. Provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
12. Hold BLS certification from an AHS-credentialed American Heart Association or equivalent, demonstrating basic life support skills.
13. Maintain current licensure with ARRT certification and NJ state licensure as specified.
14. This role is similar to a cardiovascular technologist (CVT) but requires radiographic licensure to operate fluoroscopic x-ray modalities.

Skills & Qualifications

3-5 years of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist with NJ radiographic licensure.

Education

• High School Diploma/GED, or
• Associate degree, or
• Completion of an accredited radiographic program.

Certifications & Licensure

• NJ radiographic licensure.
• BLS certification from an approved AHS-credentialed American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT.
