Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform interventional and neuro-interventional radiologic exams for pediatric, congenital, and adult patients in the CVIS, adhering to scope and organizational standards.

The role requires patient preparation, image-guided procedures, and coordination with documentation, billing, and PACS archiving. Candidates must have accredited radiology training and relevant certifications, with on-call duties and shift coverage as needed.

Qualifications

  • Accredited Radiology program completion is required.
  • ACLs (ACLS AHA) certification within 6 months is preferred for most locations.
  • ARRT certification or eligible status.
  • Florida CRT license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Assists physician with diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures using sterile technique and reviews results to address image quality issues.
  • Performs clerical duties including documenting procedures in HIS/RIS, recording billing, editing and archiving images in PACS, and assisting with inventory management.
  • Demonstrates ability to cover on-call responsibilities and work after-hours as needed.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies, selects exposure factors and imaging parameters, and performs quality control on equipment; troubleshoots malfunctions.

Job description

Summary

Performs all phases of interventional and neuro-interventional radiologic examinations on pediatric/congenital and/or adult patients in the CVIS in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

  • Shift: 8AM-8:30PM (training will be from 7AM-5:30PM when start).
  • 3 days per week plus On Call (training will begin with 4 days per week).
  • Ability to scrub for IR or Cardiac Cath Lab highly preferred.
Responsibilities

Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.

Assists physician with performing diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures (utilizing surgical sterile technique). Reviews results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.

Assists with clerical and non-technical duties necessary to department operations, such as documenting procedures into department/hospital information systems, as per departmental policy, recording billing, editing and statistical information in radiology information system, (post-processing and archiving of images to PACS), maintaining and cleaning patient care equipment per infection control standards and evaluating inventory levels, to ensure par level of stock, suitable for the needs of division.

Demonstrate the ability to cover call by performing all functions required after hours.

Prepares equipment and supplies including sterile trays. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Must be able to do a regular on call schedule and work irregular shifts if needed. Must be able to respond to emergent and unexpected situation. Required Work Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience required. Other Information: ACLS Certification (ACLS) within 6 months is preferred for most locations. Memorial Regional Hospital: Must have ACLS Certification (ACLS) within 6 months. Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital specific: Must have ACLS Certification (ACLS) and PALS Certification (PALS) within 6 months.Additional Education Info: Graduate of an AMA approved accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
