Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Florida seeks an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to perform all phases of IR and neuro-interventional exams for pediatric and adult patients within CVIS, in accordance with hospital standards and mission.

The role offers a shift from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM with training, plus on-call duties. ACLS and ARRt credentials with Florida CRT, and at least 1 year of experience are expected.

Qualifications

  • Accredited Radiology program completion required.
  • ACLS Certification (AHA) within 6 months preferred.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • CRT license active in Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing history and positioning.
  • Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Document procedures in RIS and PACS; manage inventory and equipment.
  • Cover after-hours call as needed.
  • Set up sterile trays and ensure imaging settings and safety.

Job description

Summary

Performs all phases of interventional and neuro-interventional radiologic examinations on pediatric/congenital and/or adult patients in the CVIS in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Shift and schedule
  • Shift: 8AM-8:30PM (training will be from 7AM-5:30PM when start).
  • 3 days per week plus On Call (training will begin with 4 days per week).
  • Ability to scrub for IR or Cardiac Cath Lab highly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Assists physician with performing diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures (utilizing surgical sterile technique). Reviews results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
  • Assists with clerical and non-technical duties necessary to department operations, such as documenting procedures into department/hospital information systems, as per departmental policy, recording billing, editing and statistical information in radiology information system, (post-processing and archiving of images to PACS), maintaining and cleaning patient care equipment per infection control standards and evaluating inventory levels, to ensure par level of stock, suitable for the needs of division.
  • Demonstrate the ability to cover call by performing all functions required after hours.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies including sterile trays. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

Additional Job Information

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must be able to do a regular on call schedule and work irregular shifts if needed. Must be able to respond to emergent and unexpected situation.

Required Work Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience required.
