Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking an experienced Interventional Spine/Pain Management Nurse to assess patients, assist physicians with procedures like injections and nerve blocks, administer medications and monitor sedation. You will educate patients, ensure continuity of care, and coordinate pre- to post-procedure activities across diverse settings.

The role requires an Illinois RN license, ACLS/CPR certifications, and 3–5 years of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred.
• ACLS and CPR certifications required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with changing into appropriate attire.
• Complete Comprehensive preprocedural assessments and document findings.
• Administer preprocedural orders including medications and IV therapy.
• Provide preoperative education to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
• Accompany patients to the procedure room and perform intraoperative nursing duties.
• Complete all required medical record documentation.
• Maintain sterile technique and supply team members.
• Administer conscious sedation per proceduralist order and monitor patient condition.
• Transfer patients to the recovery area and provide handoff reports.
• Order, receive, and stock supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Prepare stretchers between cases and provide breaks as assigned.
• Monitor equipment and report repairs as needed.
• Assess, monitor, and support patients during recovery.
• Provide homecare instructions and education materials at discharge.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety at all phases of care.
• Respond to emergencies and support during critical situations.
• Collaborate with proceduralist and team to optimize outcomes.
• Participate in quality assurance and infection control activities.
• Maintain accurate patient records and procedure logs.
• Perform pre- and post-procedure phone calls as needed.
• Ensure facility cleanliness and organization.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed.
• Comply with incident-reporting procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
