Job summary

UVA Health's Interventional Radiology team is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to lead consults and coordinate care for urgent image-guided interventions. You will focus on consultation, triage, patient assessment, and multidisciplinary care coordination across inpatient and ambulatory settings.

The role offers onboarding, mentorship, and opportunities to shape APP workflows within a fast-paced IR environment, with exposure to CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and intravascular ultrasound,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master’s degree.
• Strong foundational clinical skills and adaptability for complex consultations.

Responsibilities

• Manage Interventional Radiology consults across acuity and specialties.
• Participate in triage of urgent and emergent cases (PE, ischemic limb emergencies, thrombolysis).
• Evaluate patients, complete workups for emergent procedures, and coordinate care.
• Carry consult pager responsibilities and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Prepare patients for IR procedures using advanced guidance technologies (CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, intravascular ultrasound).
• Collaborate with IR physicians, APPs, residents, fellows, and nursing teams.
• Care for a diverse patient population from newborns to geriatrics.
• Contribute to development of APP workflows and future offerings.
