Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks a Special Procedures Radiology Technologist I to perform advanced diagnostic and interventional imaging under physician direction.

The role requires sterile technique, operation of specialized radiographic equipment, and the ability to support complex procedures while ensuring patient safety and image quality. The ideal candidate has ARRT certification, state licensure, and 1–2 years of radiologic technologist experience, with 2–4 years in special procedures

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• State Licensure as Radiologic Technologist required.
• BCLS within 30 days of hire required.
• 1–2 years as Radiologic Technologist.
• 2–4 years in special procedures or interventional radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs special procedures and interventional imaging exams using fluoroscopy, CT, or other modalities per physician orders and safety standards.
• Verifies informed consent, prepares patients, and explains steps to promote understanding and cooperation.
• Applies proper positioning to obtain diagnostic-quality images with minimal radiation exposure.
• Maintains sterile technique during interventional procedures, including tray prep and catheter handling.
• Assists physicians during procedures by supporting equipment use and flow.
• Follows conscious sedation protocols including patient monitoring and recovery support.
• Maintains image documentation in PACS and communicates findings to radiologists and care teams.
• Manages inventory and supplies for procedures, ensuring cost-effective practices.
• Collaborates with radiologists and technologists to standardize procedures and improve quality.
