Qualifications

• RT(R) radiologic technologist licensure required upon hire.
• ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in Kentucky required upon hire.
• BLS Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS required within 12 months from graduation or 24 months from start date if non-accredited program.
• VIR - Vascular Interventional Radiography credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in diagnostic and interventional radiologic procedures.
• Positions patients and selects exposure factors accurately.
• Applies ALARA principle to minimize exposure to patient and staff.
• Assists physicians in imaging procedures and with contrast media or medications.
• Sets up and provides equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
• Monitors patients during procedures and documents results.
• Operates imaging systems and assists with catheter insertions.
• Records hemodynamic values and waveforms for patient records.
• Coordinates across Radiology (CT, Ultrasound, Cath Lab, OR) to meet interventional needs.
