Responsibilities

• Perform interventional radiology and cardiovascular imaging procedures with precision and adherence to protocols.
• Prepare and maintain imaging equipment and sterile fields for procedures.
• Assist physicians by scrubbing during interventional procedures as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and safety throughout procedures.
• Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and charting in Epic.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and hospital policies.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain certification requirements.

Job Summary

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing specialized imaging procedures in radiology and cardiology settings, including interventional radiology. The technologist must have applicable ARRT (R) IR certification and experience with scrub duties. Strong knowledge of imaging technology and patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional radiology and cardiovascular imaging procedures with precision and adherence to protocols.
• Prepare and maintain imaging equipment and sterile fields for procedures.
• Assist physicians by scrubbing during interventional procedures as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and safety throughout procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including radiologists, cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and charting in electronic medical records (Epic).
• Ensure compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and hospital policies.

Special Considerations

• On-call responsibilities required.
• Rotating weekend coverage and one weekly evening shift rotation.
• Position does not float between units.
• Strict adherence to sterile technique and radiation safety standards.
