Position Highlights

- Level 1 Trauma Center
- Certified Stroke Center
Licensure And Certifications
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (required upon hire)
- GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist (preferred or upon hire)
- RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (required upon hire; obtain within 6 months if graduated from Cardiovascular Accredited Program)
- LMRT - Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (preferred or upon hire)
- RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (for Electrophysiology Labs only, required upon hire)
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (required before providing independent patient care, maintained quarterly)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required within 90 days of hire)
Position Responsibilities
Interventional Radiology Technologists are responsible for assessing and recognizing patients' emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions. Responsibilities include:
Patient Care
- Using multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions
- Preparing rooms for examinations
- Checking physician orders and exam requisitions
- Greeting and acknowledging patients with two forms of ID
- Obtaining patient history
- Handling patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes, or other devices
- Demonstrating knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment
- Using proper body mechanics when assisting patients
- Assisting providers with contrast media administration under supervision
- Processing patient information and transporting patients as needed
Imaging Procedures, Quality, and Processing
- Explaining procedures to patients or guardians
- Positioning patients correctly
- Performing complex procedures considering age and developmental factors
- Assisting with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
- Maintaining attention to detail
- Managing image transfer and quality control
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Adjusting technical factors
- Operating and maintaining equipment
- Troubleshooting equipment issues
- Maintaining cleanliness and stock supplies
- Understanding quality standards and regulations
Professional Accountability and Partnership
- Enhancing technical skills and staying updated
- Participating in continuing education and meetings
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives
- Managing time effectively
- Performing additional duties as assigned
