Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an experienced radiology professional to support interventional radiology procedures in a busy lab. You will ensure patient positioning, select imaging factors, and perform high-quality radiographs with minimal dose under physician supervision.

The role involves complex interventions, sterile technique, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with radiologists, vascular surgeons, and other specialists. Excellent patient communication and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have attended an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology and be ARRT registered
• This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients and treat all customers with age specific appropriateness.

Responsibilities

• Positioning and immobilization of patient to ensure anatomy or blood vessels being examined are in the correct profile and projection.
• Independent selection of technical factors to ensure high quality images with the lowest possible dose to the patient.
• Assist in complex interventional procedures such as de-clotting of blood vessels, UFE, Venous ablations and other peripheral vascular procedures.
• Obtain radiographic DSA and DA images for interventional procedures and transmit to PACS for radiologist interpretation.
• Assist in interventional endovascular neurological procedures, such as aneurysm coiling and stent placement.
• Prepare patient for exams in sterile fashion and maintain sterile fields and equipment.
• Maintain equipment and exam rooms; ensure timely patient flow and safety.
• Explain examinations to patients and families; participate in leadership and teaching roles.
