Job summary

Rochester Regional Health in Rochester, NY seeks a Radiology Technologist - Special Procedures Technologist to join the Cardiac/Cath Lab team. The role involves performing radiography and complex special procedures within Interventional & Imaging Services.

The candidate must hold or obtain NYS Radiologic Technology licensure within six months, with ARRT certification within one year if licensed after 2007; BLS is preferred. Call is required and on-site duties are in a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• 2 years college certificate or equivalent.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• If licensed after 2007, must obtain the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hire.
• Radiologic Technologist experience (preferred).
• BLS Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs as a radiologic technologist; prioritizes tasks and exams, confirms patient identification and examination, provides radiologist with pertinent information for interpretation, positions patients for standard views, and adjusts for difficult movements.
• Performs as a Special Procedures Technologist: angiography, cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker insertions, stents, and related procedures.
• Maintains ALARA radiation safety standards.
• Assists physicians in sterile procedures and post-operative care as needed.
