Job summary

Geisinger Wyoming Valley is seeking an Interventional Technologist to independently perform or assist with cardiac, neuro, body, and vascular interventional procedures. You will prepare medications and manage radiation exposure, ensuring ALARA and patient safety in a clinical setting.

Required ARRT-R and advanced ARRT certifications, ACLS within 6 months of hire, and PALS for GWV. Duties include imaging, data handling, and education of students.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT-R certification and advanced ARRT certifications (RCIS/RCIS).
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire; PALS at GWV within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilizes imaging protocols and ALARA principles to optimize factors and patient safety.
• Administers medications via vascular access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for positioning and quality; ensures data storage and transfer.
• Educates and monitors students and other health care providers.
• Assists or performs diagnostic, fluoroscopic, or interventional procedures as prescribed.
• Maintains intra-arterial access; table pausing during imaging; monitors physiology.
• Performs manual hemostasis; operates hemodynamic equipment; ACLS as required.
