Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in interventional procedures. The role supports the radiologist during Special Procedure exams, performs essential QC tasks, and ensures accurate orders and patient histories for safe imaging.

Candidates should have MRT licensure in Texas and BLS certification, with ARRT Interventional Angiography preferred. Experience in interventional radiology is required, with a commitment to compliance and high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Must have current BLS certification.
• 2 years prior Special Procedure and/or Radiographer experience required.
• Membership in related professional organization preferred.
• ARRT Certification in Interventional Angiography preferred.
• Must demonstrate commitment to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Assists radiologist in performing Special Procedure exams.
• Performs quality control procedures as required by the manufacturer.
• Evaluates orders, verifies with radiologist and ensures proper lab results and history for contraindications.
• Familiar with interventional equipment and wires to assist the radiologist.
• Interacts with hospital staff and nursing departments regarding patient care and conflicts.
• Maintains performance skills.
• Routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on-call.
