Job summary

Corewell Health in Royal Oak is seeking a Special Procedure Technician to support Heart and Vascular procedures. You will assist physicians, perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, and contribute to patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time, days-shift role includes occasional 9:30am–8:00pm on-call weekends and a generous sign-on bonus for external hires and internal grads in student roles.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in cardiovascular technology or related field is required.
• Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
• Cath Lab/EP Lab requires Cardiovascular Technologist program graduate.
• 1 year of EP, Cath Lab or IR experience preferred.

Scope of work

Under general supervision, the Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education required.
• Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
• Cath Lab/EP Lab requires employee to be a graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program.
• Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above listed programs.
• 1 year of experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR is required.
• CRT-Radiographer (R)-ARRT American Registry of Radiological Technologist IR Upon Hire Required.
• CRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) ARRT-American Registry of Radiological Technologist IR 1 Yrs Upon hire Required Or CRT-Cardio Vascular Imaging (CI) ARRT-American Registry of Radiological Technologist IR 1 Yrs Upon Hired Required.
• CRT-Radiographer (R)-ARRT American Registry of Radiological Technologist Cath Lab & EP Lab Upon Hire Required Or CRT-Reg Card Inter Specialist (RCIS)-CCI Int’L-Cardiovascular Credentialing International Cath Labe & EP Lab Upon Hire Required Or CRT-Reg Card Elect Specialist (RCES)-CCI Int’l-Cardiovascular Credentialing International Cath Lab & EP Lab Upon Hire Required.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)-AHA-American Heart Association Cath Lab & EP Lab 180 days Required.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hired Required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) American Red Cross Upon Hire Required.
