Job summary

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak is seeking a Special Procedure Tech to support Heart and Vascular procedures. DUTIES include assisting physicians, IV starts, patient prep, hemodynamic monitoring, and education. Full-time days with some on-call weekends.

Qualifications include an associate degree in cardiovascular tech or related field, IR experience, ARRT/RCIS/RCES certifications, ACLS/BLS, and 1 year in EP/Cath Lab/IR.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training in cardiovascular technology or related field.
• Radiography program accreditation (JRCERT) for Interventional Radiology.
• Graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program for Cath Lab/EP Lab.
• 1 year of experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR.
• ARRT and state/board certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care pre, intra, and post for heart/vascular procedures.
• Assist physicians and monitor hemodynamics.
• Perform IV starts and patient prep as needed.
• Document procedures and educate patients/families.

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 Corewell Health doctors on faculty.

Scope of work

Under general supervision, the Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education required.
• Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
• Cath Lab/EP Lab requires employee to be a graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program.
• Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above listed programs.
• 1 year of experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR is required.
• CRT-Radiographer (R)-ARRT American Registry of Radiological Technologist IR Upon Hire Required.
• CRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) ARRT-American Registry of Radiological Technologist IR 1 Yrs Upon hire Required Or
• CRT-Cardio Vascular Imaging (CI) ARRT-American Registry of Radiological Technologist IR 1 Yrs Upon Hired Required.
• CRT-Radiographer (R)-ARRT American Registry of Radiological Technologist Cath Lab & EP Lab Upon Hire Required Or
• CRT-Reg Card Inter Specialist (RCIS)-CCI Int’L-Cardiovascular Credentialing International Cath Labe & EP Lab Upon Hire Required Or
• CRT-Reg Card Elect Specialist (RCES)-CCI Int’l-Cardiovascular Credentialing International Cath Lab & EP Lab Upon Hire Required.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)-AHA-American Heart Association Cath Lab & EP Lab 180 days Required.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hired Required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) American Red Cross Upon Hire Required.
