Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology. This role delivers high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing invasive radiology procedures, with strong assessment skills and critical care experience.

The RN will provide care across imaging modalities, participate in sedation and peri-procedural care, and supervise Patient Care Assistants. ACLS certified and CT RN license required.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• 2 years ICU RN experience required; Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
• Current RN License in Connecticut
• ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across all imaging modalities within the Radiology Department.
• Apply all phases of care for invasive radiology procedures: pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure.
• Demonstrate competency in advanced patient assessment skills of all body systems.
• Function as clinically competent in procedural sedation and administering conscious sedation.
• Understand the sedation recovery phase, reversal agents, and airway recovery skills.
• Delegate and supervise the work of Patient Care Assistants (PCA) and Patient Attendants (PAA).
• Report to the Unit Manager.
